A year and a half ago, I stumbled upon a brilliant blog, Hands Free Mama by Rachel Macy Stafford. I loved her words. I found her at the best time as I was kicking off my own effort to be more present in my life, or live “hands free”. I reached out to Rachel just to say that I was inspired by her and moved by her stories. She responded immediately and offered support for the journey I was beginning. She also told me about her book.

I just spent a  plane ride devouring the pages of her book pictured above. I love the way she writes and feel comforted by her words. I feel as though someone gets me and is supporting me as I read it. I feel tears filling my eyes when I realize that I still have a long way to go to be more present in my life.  I feel like her words give me the forgiveness and encouragement I need to be better at this.

As I finished her book, I have a renewed focus, new (and simple!) tools and inspiration to stay the course on my quest to be present. I’m so grateful that she wrote such a beautiful book to share with all of us.

If you want to be inspired to live a life with more meaning and happiness, this is the book for you. It isn’t about some 20-step process. It’s about what works for you. It is sharing the journey and encouraging you to try small things each day to change your life. It’s easy, digestible and doable. It doesn’t make you feel bad about being who you are, in fact, it rejoices it. It helps you focus on what really matters most. I’ve read very few books that have done just that for me.

I’m grateful for Rachel and her work. As a bonus and honor, she included one of my own suggestions from this blog as a feature in her book.

So, don’t hesitate. Buy it, read it. I think I’ve dog-eared more pages in this book than any other that I’ve read in a long while. I think it could very well change your life. my review here Enjoy it and be present.
